- Celebrating a Decade of Excellence: Equalizer Unveils a New Look for a New Era
This summer marks a significant milestone for Equalizer, a business rooted deeply in family values and driven by a passion for creating unforgettable events. What started as Equalizer Audio in July 2014 has now blossomed into a thriving company known for its expertise in staging, sound, lighting, and event management across the UK. As Equalizer celebrates a decade in business, it’s not only reflecting on its remarkable journey but also looking forward to the future with a brand-new look. A Decade of Evolution Equalizer began its journey on the picturesque Isle of Wight, with a simple yet ambitious goal: to provide high-quality audio solutions for events. Founded in July 2014 as a family-run business, Equalizer Audio quickly gained a reputation for excellence in sound engineering, making waves not only on the Isle of Wight but across the UK. The company’s commitment to quality and its personalized approach allowed it to grow steadily, expanding its services and expertise. In 2020, as the company’s services grew beyond just audio, it underwent a transformation, rebranding as Equalizer Productions. This name change reflected the broader scope of the company’s offerings, which now included staging, lighting, and event planning. The evolution from Equalizer Audio to Equalizer Productions was a natural progression, representing the company’s growth and its expanded role in the event industry. A New Identity for a New Era Now, in August 2024, as Equalizer celebrates ten years of success, the company is once again evolving. This time, the change is about more than just a name—it's about a fresh, modern identity that encapsulates everything Equalizer stands for today. The company will now be known simply as Equalizer, a name that reflects its streamlined approach and its commitment to balancing every aspect of an event to create a harmonious and memorable experience. The new look includes a revamped logo, updated branding, and a renewed focus on innovation and customer service. While the name and branding might be new, the core of Equalizer remains the same: a family-run business dedicated to delivering exceptional staging, sound, lighting, and event management services. The company’s mission continues to be centered around providing personalised, professional services for events, festivals, and weddings across the UK. A Decade of Memories and Milestones Over the past decade, Equalizer has been privileged to be a part of countless events, from intimate weddings on the Isle of Wight to large-scale festivals across the UK. Each event has been a unique challenge and an opportunity to create something special. Whether it’s designing a breathtaking stage setup, ensuring flawless sound quality, or managing the intricate logistics of a major event, Equalizer has consistently delivered results that exceed expectations. The company’s success is built on the strong foundation laid by its founders and sustained by the hard work of its dedicated team. Even as it grows and evolves, Equalizer remains a family business at heart, with family values guiding every decision. Looking Ahead As Equalizer steps into its second decade, the company is more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the event industry. With its new look and continued focus on excellence, Equalizer is poised to take on even more exciting projects, helping clients bring their visions to life in new and innovative ways. The future holds endless possibilities for Equalizer, and with a decade of experience under its belt, the company is ready to face whatever comes next. The new branding is a symbol of the company’s growth, but also a promise: no matter how much it evolves, Equalizer will always stay true to its roots, providing the exceptional service and personal touch that have been its hallmark since day one. Here’s to a decade of success, and to many more years of creating unforgettable experiences—Equalizer is just getting started.
- Garlic Festival 2024
Equalizer at The Garlic Festival 2024: Sounding Off on the Main Music Stage We were thrilled to be part of The Garlic Festival 2024, where Equalizer was entrusted with supplying the sound for the festival's main music stage—an 8m x 5m platform that served as the heart of the event’s live performances. Our team of experienced sound engineers and a system technician ensured that the stage delivered top-quality audio throughout the two-day festival. We utilized a robust Martin Audio PA system, paired with a Midas M32R mixing console, which was expertly managed side-stage to provide seamless sound for the diverse lineup of performers. Once the event concluded, our stage crew was on hand to efficiently de-rig the stage and load everything into transport, wrapping up a successful weekend of music and community. We’re already looking forward to bringing our expertise back to The Garlic Festival in 2025 and continuing to elevate the sound experience for all attendees.
- Lionheart Festival 2024
Equalizer's Sound and Noise Management at Lionheart Festival 2024 At Lionheart Festival 2024, Equalizer was proud to deliver a comprehensive suite of services, including sound engineering, system tech support, and noise monitoring. We utilized a powerful Martin Audio Sound System paired with a Behringer X32 Digital Mixing Console to ensure top-notch audio throughout the event. Our team managed the sound side-stage, using a tablet for seamless front-of-house (FOH) control, which allowed us to stay agile and responsive to the needs of the performers and the audience. The festival weekend was packed with a dynamic lineup of bands and speeches, all taking place on a 10m x 8m stage. Our responsibilities extended beyond sound engineering to include the crucial task of noise monitoring. We implemented a comprehensive noise management plan, collecting multiple and regular decibel readings across the site to ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain a pleasant experience for festival-goers and the surrounding community. With the weather on our side, the event was a great success, and we’re thrilled to have contributed to such a memorable experience. It was a weekend filled with fantastic music, clear communication, and flawless execution—proving once again why Lionheart Festival remains a highlight on the festival calendar.
- Love Supreme Festival 2024
Equalizer's Role in Building the Second Stage at Love Supreme Festival We were thrilled to have our Stage Crew sub-contracted to help build the Second Stage at the Love Supreme Festival in West Sussex. Working alongside two other companies, we took on the challenge of constructing an impressive stage within the festival’s iconic Big Top. The stage structure, crafted from Layher, spanned the entire width of the Big Top, providing a solid and spacious foundation for performances. To ensure smooth operations, we installed a LiteDeck ramp for easy equipment access on and off the stage, as well as two stair access points for performers and crew. In addition to the main stage, our team also constructed the AVP (Accessible Viewing Platform) and the FOH (Front of House) positions, both using LiteDeck. These key areas were essential in enhancing the overall festival experience, providing accessible viewing options and optimal control for sound and lighting. Spending two days on-site, our crew worked tirelessly to bring these structures to life, contributing to the success of the Love Supreme Festival. It was a fantastic experience to be part of such a well-loved event, and we're proud of the role we played in creating a memorable festival atmosphere.

- Steam Fair 2024
A Decade of Sound and Stage at Havenstreet Steam Fair: Our Journey in 2024 For the ninth consecutive year, we had the privilege of being part of the Steam Railway’s renowned Steam Fair at Havenstreet, Isle of Wight. This year, despite battling relentless winds and rain, our team successfully delivered an unforgettable stage experience, filled with vibrant music for all to enjoy. Our contribution to the 2024 Steam Fair included providing top-notch staging, sound, lighting, and site support. We set up a 9m x 9m Black Marquee in collaboration with SDC Marquees, which featured a 9m x 6m covered stage roof. Behind the stage, we created a comfortable space for artists and crew with a 6m x 3m and a 3m x 3m Green Room. The performance stage itself was a 24ft x 16ft LiteDeck Stage, raised 1ft high, accompanied by a powerful Martin Audio Sound System and a Midas M32 Digital Mixing Console. Reflecting on our nine years at Havenstreet, it's incredible to see how the Music Stage has evolved. What began as a small, intimate setup in the woods, known as the Woodland Stage, has grown into a prominent feature in the Main Arena. This expansion has not only allowed larger bands to showcase their talent but has also attracted bigger crowds, all eager to experience the diverse musical offerings over the four-day event. The journey from a modest woodland stage to the bustling Main Arena has been a remarkable one, and we're proud to have played a part in enhancing the musical landscape of the Havenstreet Steam Fair. Here’s to many more years of bringing great music and unforgettable experiences to this historic event!
